This photo was taken at the Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria, Queens. The sculpture in the photo is called “Cenotaph” by Adriana Farmiga and it’s wonderfully deceiving. On either side is the back of the man, there is no front – so while he looks as if he is staring across the water, if you walk around to the “front” he appears to be staring at the rest of the sculpture garden. I loved how unexpected this was!
You can tell I’ve been negligent in processing photos as the trees are bare, spring had not yet hit when I took this photo and it was an interestingly gloomy day. I’m glad the sun is back and the warm breezes and the luscious leaves on my favorite tree.
