Happy New Year 2009!

“We
make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depth of
our answers
    Carl Sagan

Hope everyone had a wonderful new years eve and is
starting 2009 with a fresh outlook and a plan for adventures to be had! I’ll
definitely be posting more often  now that the craziness of the holidays
is dissipating a bit. I love the quote above by Carl Sagan and I think that is
what each new year means to me, re-evaluating and going a little deeper. Here’s
a little Thoreau to say what I could never put as beautifully:

“I went to the woods because I wished to
live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I
could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover
that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so
dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I
wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily
and Spartanlike as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath
and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest
terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then get the whole and genuine
meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime,
to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next
excursion” (Henry David Thoreau)

    Dear Ms. Taylor
I don’t even know how I wound up at your blogging door, but “thanks” for the first great thought for 2009. I think the transition/transformation of living life from one year to the next is an amazing milestone. That is all it is, but it is a personal measuring rod.
I am going to keep an eye in your direction. You obviously have a great deal to contribute and some tremendous talent. A few years ago, I retired early from my professional career to chase a dream of my own. Now, I have formed the Inspiration & Encouragment Network. Our “talented circle” is aimed at DISCOVERING TALENT
DEVLEOPING TALENT – MASTERING TALENTS – AND SHARING THEM.

As Di Vinci once said, “If people knew how hard the mastery – they wouldn’t think it so great.” But a mastery level of production and distribution (like you are doing) is why you were born – and you are doing a great job with it. Thanks for helping me start out another really great year of my living.
